Victoria Peak

Amazing views from the posh Victoria Peak neighbourhood...

And the tram ride from the peak is a must-do experience when in Hong Kong. The gradient is extremely steep, and provides fantastic views of the HK skyline as you descend.

(The tram had a major failure the day after we enjoyed it! Passengers had to walk down the slope - thankfully, the tram broke down not in the middle, but very close to the station)

Day 5: Ngong Ping Cable Ride, And Back To Mumbai!

Day 5 was the last day of the tour - and we spent it at the amazing cable ride taking you away into the clouds at Ngong Ping, where the Giant Buddha, and some great "tea" shopping awaits you. Definitely a must-do when in Hong Kong.

Later in the evening, the coach dropped us to the airport, and 17 tired but happy travellers headed back to Amchi Mumbai!

End of a well-enjoyed vacation!

Day 4: Disneyland and Temple Street Night Market

Day 4 was reserved for the Mecca for kids - Disneyland. A fantasy world, lots of rides, cartoon characters, princesses, and some great food. But compared to the one in the US, from whatever I have heard, this one's tiny in scope as well as scale. The highlight was a short parade of Disney's favourite characters and colorful floats and dancers, in the afternoon, through the main street of the "town".

The parade got over just before the heavens opened up, drenching us completely for over 20 mins... but it was enjoyable, just standing there helpless in the center of the plaza, powerless to do anything but "wet" it out! While a visit to the restroom and the sun that came out soon helped matters, going to the beach in wet underwear wasn't appealing to anyone, so we went back to the hotel to change, and then hit the subway once again to get to Temple Street, where it was time for some fantastic street food, and a lot of haggling and bargaining (and still getting cheated) at the night market.

Busy Being Lazy!

Been a long, extended vacation interspersed with some hours at work.. and all the travelling means very little time to blog! Hopefully I can catch up on some of the pending blogs this weekend!
