Day 4 was reserved for the Mecca for kids - Disneyland. A fantasy world, lots of rides, cartoon characters, princesses, and some great food. But compared to the one in the US, from whatever I have heard, this one's tiny in scope as well as scale. The highlight was a short parade of Disney's favourite characters and colorful floats and dancers, in the afternoon, through the main street of the "town".
The parade got over just before the heavens opened up, drenching us completely for over 20 mins... but it was enjoyable, just standing there helpless in the center of the plaza, powerless to do anything but "wet" it out! While a visit to the restroom and the sun that came out soon helped matters, going to the beach in wet underwear wasn't appealing to anyone, so we went back to the hotel to change, and then hit the subway once again to get to Temple Street, where it was time for some fantastic street food, and a lot of haggling and bargaining (and still getting cheated) at the night market.
