Mumbai International Airport

I got a chance earlier this month to visit the spanking new Mumbai International Airport, and I must say, this has to be one of the most beautiful and amazing airports in the world. And remember, this wonder came up right in the middle of one of the world's largest cities, side by side with a bustling existing airport, handling millions of passengers every year.

From the layout to the finishing, and the jewel on the crown, the "walk through" museum and art center, Mumbai International truly represents the new India. Proud and exciting!

Here are some pics - although they barely represent the grandeur you are greeted with!

This tapestry of old motherboards and chips truly represents India's IT might

The lotus theme extends beautifully to the laps on the ceilings

The lotus themed ceiling glows with millions of LEDs

Beautiful temples, arches and doorways from every nook and corner of the country mesmerize  you as you head towards the gates

Soft lighting, interspersed with plants and benches, surrounded by glitzy shopping arcades make Mumbai airport one of the most welcoming

ps: A lots of posts on my Spain trip coming up soon, so keep a watch on this space. Hasta la vista!

Movie Review: The Amazing Spider Man 2

Andrew Garfield is thin enough to be a Spiderman, Emma Stone is not too bad as his girl friend. The movie starts off pretty well, the action is interesting, and the jokes funny. But it soon degenerates into too much dialogue and the action shots become rare, lulling you into a nice siesta.

Thankfully, I didn't see it in 3D - else I wouldn't be able to hold off for as long as Spidey takes to bring down the scheming Oscorp.

Love Bites

Last Sunday night, I switched off the lights and bent down to give Catrina a quick kiss before pulling on my blanket... and realized I had missed her loving swing of the paw, getting a sharp claw straight into my eye. I have been scratched a million times before, but it was unnerving to get one in the eyeball! I didn't dare switch on the lights to see what had happened - yes, it was stupid! - but I quickly washed my eyes and went to bed, hoping I would still have use of both my eyes in the morning!

This is what I saw when I woke up.

Thankfully, it wasn't too bad. I went to a doc anyway - got a tetanus shot, and some meds. Couldn't wear my lenses for a few days, but all's well that end's well :)

Looking Back...
