In the 10 seconds the Indian contingent (must say, dressed pretty shabbily in yellow and black) got on TV during the march past, most of the time, the cameras were focussed on a mystery woman who walked right along Vijendar carrying the flag, wearing a dark red tshirt and blue jeans. No one seems to know who she is, and how she managed to get there, and understandably, the Indians are very upset!
A couple of days ago, a small child managed to get through air port security in Manchester without a passport, without a ticket, without a boarding pass - into a plane bound for Italy. He was missed during pre-take off passenger count, and the incident came to light only when the plane was well on its way to Rome. The airport and airlines officials were quick to point out that this wasnt a security breach, since the child didn't pose any threat to the plane!
Is the UK taking security far too leniently, or is it a case of security fatigue?
