A modern day Romeo and Juliet, the families - one Hindu one Muslim, deep into caste-based politics in lawless small town Almore. Lots of gaalis and guns. The angry dads, the all-important mothers, epitome of morals and principles, love and care. And a sad ending, reminding viewers of the ugly side of caste based politics and inter-religious tension.
The story couldn't be any less original or interesting. The screenplay is amateurish. And the movie goes on and on, without any hope of an early closure to a story that is going no where. Most of the soundtrack is noise, except the hauntingly nice Pareshaan... Pareshaan... Pareshaan... The lead actor (what was his name?) gets by with a little bit of Abhishek B and a little bit of Ranveer. Most of the supporting cast look like they have some straight out of a low budget B grade movie.
And yet, I would heavily recommend this movie.

This girl is sensational. After a great start in Ricky Behl vs the Ladies, Parineeti completely rocks in Ishaqzaade, putting in a superlative performance... she's brash, she's smart, she's loving, she's naive, she's sexy, she's a brat, she's naughty. She sounds amazing, her dialogues are a treat by themselves, and she looks amazingly pretty and sexy, in a completely understated way. She takes you through scene after scene, so believable and true. She's a natural, and it shows in every word she utters, every expression, every action.
As long as she doesn't end up getting carried away or typecast, this girl can set the Bollywood scene on fire.
A must see, just for her!
