Movie Review: Jannat 2

Jannat 2 is not a sequel. Except for Emraan, and the genre (crime thriller), there's really no connection whatsoever with Jannat 1.

Emraan plays Sonu Dilli KKC (Kutti Kamini Cheez), a small time illegal guns seller, who is compelled to be the informer for ACP Pratap Raghuvanshi (Randeep Hooda), a revenge-obsessed cop bent on destroying the illegal arms business. When Sonu's love, Dr Janvi, turns out to be the estranged daughter of his mafia boss, Sonu realizes it's time to get out and find his Jannat alone with her, somewhere far from the guns. But there's one last deal he needs to close, to get Pratap his target.

Except for a couple of numbers, the music is average, and only lengthen the film... in addition to giving the serial kisser a chance to live up to his reputation. Esha Gupta is disappointing, plastic and unattractive.

But watch it for Emraan and Randeep.

Emraan is amazing as the exasperated, and almost sweet, criminal always under the close watch and control of the amazingly good looking, handsome, stressed out, crazy cop Hooda. Check his devilish smiles, especially the scene just before the interval! Their chemistry is a lot of fun, the dialogues cheeky and fresh. Reminds you of the Ocean series, and the amazing chemistry between George Clooney and Brad Pitt.

The ending disappoints with it's almost amateurish execution and screenplay, and could have been done so much better, but overall, this is a good entertainer.

Go for it if you haven't already, but keep the kids home.
