After having travelled primarily on Delta, and a bunch of other foreign carriers for a long time, we finally got a chance to fly Air India to London and back. Mixed experiences, actually.. the check in counter personnel were extremely helpful and efficient, going out of their way to make it easy and quick for us. The aircraft, a 777-300, was spacious and had loads of entertainment - literally dozens of movies of all genres and times. However, the cabin was poorly maintained, with broken fixtures and unclean toilets. The cabin crew was also unfriendly, doing only what was absolutely necessary -unwilling to smile, unwilling to do anything extra. Shockingly, we were forced to have non-veg meals, saying that if we wanted veg, we should ordered it earlier. I can understand this on a foreign carrier, but on Air India?
