Movie Review: Fukrey

A wonderful, unassuming cast. Great humour, completely effortless. A simple story. And great cinematography. Fukrey is a sweet, simple movie to soak in on a wet, rainy day.

Three guys, finally out of school, are desperate to get into an elite college, with dreams of having hot girl friends. A struggling musician wants money for treatment of his ailing father. All 4, united by a common need, join forces with an outrageous plan, for which they need seed money. Enter Bholi Punjaban, a fiesty lady don, who agrees to help them out, for assured returns. But the plan goes horribly wrong, and the four need to quickly come up with some money-spinning ideas to keep the Punjaban at bay.

Pulkit Samrat makes a very good debut as Hunny. Varun Sharma is confident, Manjot Singh puts in another great performance as the Sardar. Richa Chadda is absolutely stunning; you will fall in love with her character. Priya Anand is sweet, but I think she's losing out on meaty roles, and she also needs some help on the wardrobe and makeup! She has potential, and it's not being realized! Vishakha Singh as Neetu is also pretty good.  Only Ali Fazal is weak, in his brooding avatar, and stands apart.

Overall, a sweet and simple movie that you will enjoy!
