I have always loved Emraan, and grudgingly admired Vidya Balan for her roles.. and Ghanchakkar simply reinforces those sentiments. Another effortless performance by Emraan, getting out of comfort zones (how many heroes get beaten by lowly thugs and don't even fight back?), and showing his flair for subtle and innocent comedy, while Vidya blows you away by a character with so many shades - the libido-charged lover dressed in garish nightsuits and low neck blouses inspired by glossy fashion magazines, the caring wife, the angry argumentative partner, the deceptively simple housewife.
The lure of 10 crore is enough for Emraan to help rob a bank. The heist goes off well, and Emraan is tasked by his two partners to hide the cash until the situation cools down. However, he is involved in an accident which destroys some of his memories, and it is now a race against time to try and recollect where he's hidden the money before the frustrated partners lose it and take his life. As the days go by, he starts doubting his best friend, who he suspects of being his wife's lover. The climax is very well executed - and very unexpected!
Top notch performances, and some great scenes that will make you laugh out loud... the conversations on the dinner table, the bank heist itself (absolutely beautiful), and the scene with the doctor in the hospital are delightful and very enjoyable.
Do watch it; these kind of films come rarely in Bollywood!
